Country Number 9, Italy, in the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase Guinness World Record Attempt.

Oct 15

After a gurling 25 hour drive through 3 countries, over 2 days at the end of last week, this week has seen the Nova Inflatable Advertising team continue on with the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase tour, now having completed 3 beautiful flights in the #FlyingSuitcase over Italy, making this country number 9 in the attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most countries flown in by the same hot air balloon in a year.

The first flight was above the historic town of Mondovì, the home of Italian Ballooning. We were welcomed by Aeroclub Mondovì, with a number of the club members flying alongside the #FlyingSuitcase in their balloons. We flew above the town, around the town and then back into the field where we took off from. This is known in ballooning as flying a ‘Box’, when sometimes the wind is going in different directions at different heights therefor we are able to control the height of the balloon to find the different winds and almost appear to ‘steer’ the balloon to a landing space!

The second flight in Italy was over the beautiful area of Tuscany, and the third over Florence - both well known for their wine growing and the beautiful rolling hills and valleys. Special thanks to Tuscany Ballooning for their support and hospitality over the few days we were there, and for helping to guide a giant suitcase through the valleys!
