Ireland, Country Number 5 for the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase Guinness Would Record Attempt.

The Nova Inflatable Advertising team and the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase have packed up again and are off onto the second part of their of Europe aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the most countries flown in a year. The first stop for them this time was the last event they are booked into this year, the Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships, which runs for a week.  The Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase made its first appearance at the event on Sunday 20th September with a Tether for the guests during the morning launch, and the team took the opportunity to get lots of young volunteers involved in backing the balloon away once all the others had flown off over Lough Key. The weather was looking good for flying at the event over the next few days.

On Tuesday morning the Nova Inflatable Advertising team had great fun with TV crews from Ireland AM and presenter Deric using the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase to do the morning’s weather reports and news interviews with pilot Doug in regard to both the Guinness World Record attempt and the Irish Ballooning Championships. The news interviews and weather reports were then used on the channel throughout the day including for the afternoon news program, and they also went nationally around Ireland ensuring a great reach for the Send My Bag #FlyingSuitcase.

The Nova Inflatable Advertising team also managed to do several flights at the Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships, which means Ireland is now Country number 5 in the Guinness World Record attempt. The flights took the balloon over the beautiful Lough Key, causing lots of confused people on boats in Lough Key as a flying suitcase flew past them and Doug  even managed to do a ‘Splash and Dash’ (where hot air balloon pilots use the burners to carefully control the hight of the balloon and gently dip the bottom of the basket into the surface of the water) on one of the flights.
