Reaching New Heights with University of Huddersfield
A windy one but we managed to get the University of Huddersfield Banner Balloon up in Bradford as part of their new campaign to garner more students based on previous student stories.
The University of Huddersfield is currently running their “Reach New Heights” campaign, “We encourage our students to aim high. To seize opportunities that go beyond their degree. To join societies, become student ambassadors, compete in competitions, go on placements and even set up businesses. We’re here to support you on your challenging days, and celebrate the good days. That’s why when you come to Huddersfield, you’ll reach new heights.”
Three alumni have banded together to be the faces of this new campaign, sharing their stories of success and how they got there. One of these is called Srosh “Broadcast Journalism graduate Srosh was both a student ambassador and course rep during his time at Huddersfield, which helped to build confidence and communication skills. He also joined the RadioHud society and hosted his own show, which led to him becoming Head of Programming”
”On his course, Srosh made use of the news room and ‘news days’ to try out different media roles and get familiar with equipment that he’d later use in his career. His work placements at Leeds TV and BBC Radio Leeds were the first steps in what’s already an impressive media career. Since graduating, Srosh has worked for Sky News in the 2019 General Election, BBC Radio Leeds, BBC Look North and BBC Inside Out. He’s now a journalist and producer at BBC Sports News, working on the BBC News Channel and 1, 6 and 10 o’clock bulletins.”
Below is their campaign videos linked to explain a bit more.
Be sure to see the balloon at a few events in the upcoming weeks!
